YOUTH’S MEAN CRIME
SPENT MONEY ON CLOTHES
WHEN Charles Somerville Vincent, aged 18, forged withdrawal slips for £2B ss, he closed the Post Office Savings Bank account of his friend, John Archibald McLean. Vincent pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to charges of forging two withdrawal slips, and stealing a bank book. AlcLean said that he missed his book after spending a night at accused’s home. When he went to the bank next day to report his loss he found that all his money had been drawn out. Detective M. O’Sullivan said that accused had spent most of the money on an overcoat, camera, shoes, and other clothing. He was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
