PIONEER’S FUNERAL
tATE MR. JAMES MCLEOD
A number of pioneers were present yesterday at the funeral of the Lite Mr. James McLeod, a well-known resident of Helensville.
Th© cortege, which comprised over 40 motor-cars, left Mr. McLeod’s late A e it idence * St Luke’s Road, Mount Albert, at noon, and arrived at the Helensville Cemetery at 2 p.m. The Rev. T. Partridge, vicar of Helensville, officiated at the graveside. Among the pioneers present were ■Mr. Joseph Simcock. aged 90, who arrived in the Dominion about the. same i*? e As deceased: Mr. J. Macdonald aged 82: Mr. W. Downer, aged 83; nnd Mr. Marcus Wilkins, an old resiof Waikoukou. The following local and public bodies were represented:—Waitemata Power i °^. rd * Hayden, chairman; Auckland Hospital Board. Mr. William Walchairman: Waitemata County _ °oncil, Mr. J. Mackie; Helensville A. ®uu A. Association, Mr. A. Hanson; A. and P, Association, Mr. w. F. O’Donnell.
