LATE MRS. E. WEBLEY

Mrs. Elizabeth Webley, another old Auckland colonist, died on Saturday at the age of 82. Born in Hartland, Devonshire, England, Mrs. Webley arrived in Auckland in the ship Agnes Muir, on Christmas Eve, 1873, and lived in the old Albert Barracks.

Shortly after li£r arrival she married the late Mr. John Webley, who for many years was in business in Auckland, and who ■was a member of the 4th Waikato Regiment during the Maori War. Mrs. Webley was a member of the Baptist Tabernacle for ove\ 30 years. Her husband predeceased her 15 years ago.

Mrs. Webley is survived by five daughters, Mrs. W. Melvin, Green Lane, Mrs. A. Sutton, Ngaruawaliia, Mrs. H. Tabrura, Auckland, Mrs. G. P. Kelly, Ellerslie, and Mrs. J. K. Robb. Grey Lynn. There are eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
