TAUMARUNUI PROGRESS
BEAUTIFYING THE TOWN
Mr. T. Broad, president, was in the chair at the annual general meeting of the Taumarunui Beautifying Society. Mr. Broad urged that the society take up other branches of activity besides planting, and full discussion was given to a suggestion that the borough council be asked to provide a tourist camping ground in the borough.
Officers were elected as follow: President, Mr. T. Broad; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. G. E. Manson and A. G. Riches; treasurer, Mr. W. Hughes; secretary, Mr. A. J. Langmuir.
