Goldsbrough, Alort shares have improved to buyer. 475: no sellers. Coal shares are steady. Pukemiros I have advanced to buyers 58s 6d and no sellers. XVailiis have buyers at 15s 6d, sellers 16s 3d. Huddart-Parker shares are firm, with buyers appearing at 46s 6d, sellers 475. Northern Steamship, both ord. and con. shares, remain firm. OPERATIONS REVIEWED By the end o: March, Renown Collieries will be placing coal on the market, according to the annual report of directors, to be presented to shareholders at an early date. The report states that fresh contracts have been let for the completion of the work abandoned by Messrs. Deban and Jeune—the completion of excavations lor ground tramway and railway sidings, and for the remaining tunnel on the tramway route. They have been let to parties of men who suffered by the failure of the previous contractors to complete their undertaking. Work has already commenced, and it is anticipated by the directorate that the contracts will all be completed by the New Year. Messrs. W. i\ Endean and D. Holderness offer themselves lor re-election to the board of directors, and Messrs. Watkins, Hull, Hunt, and Wheeler, for reappointment as auditors. The authorised capital of the company is £150,000, in £L shares, of which £120,000 has been subscribed. Paid-up capital amounts to .C 75.283, and there is owing to sundry creditors £8,927, including £3,826 to the cornpanv s bank. The principal assets are: Leasehold land, property development, plant and machinery, tools, township, mine buildings, and stores, £63,978; fixed deposits, £5,065. Preliminary expenses and brokerage stand at £7,549. The net loss for the year ended July 31, 1927, is £2,127, which, together with a balance of £4,37S brought forward from last year, leaves the profit and loss appropriation account £6.505 in debit.
