PRINCESS
“TAXI! TAXI!” Edward Everett Horton, easily one of the most able light comedians of the screen, nas the featured role in “Taxi! Taxi!” now being shown at the Princess Theatre, and gives a thoroughly enjoyable characterisation of the meek, timid draughtsman who gets the excitement of a lifetime in the space of 48 hours and rises to the occasion beautifully. There are few serious moments in the production. It drifts along easily and swiftly, through a series of amusing incidents, building all the time to a climax which is both highly amusing and totally unexpected. To reveal the climax—or to reveal any part of th*» story—would be an injustice. Marian Nixon, the popular little actress who has been seen in several charming roles with Reginald Denny, plays the feminine lead opposite Horton. Burr Mclntosh, Edward Martindel, William V. Mong, Lueien Littlefield, Freeman Wood and others contribute their share of comedy in the supporting roles. “Taxi! Taxi!” was directed by Melville Brown from a scenario based on George Weston’s short story of the same name.
