Tennis Club Funds.—By means of a nigger minstrel entertainment, the I’aparoa Tennis Club last week raised £26. Tahuna Hall Debt.—There is a debit of £350 on the Tahuna Hall, and the committee in charge has decided to ask for guinea subscriptions to wipe off this liability. Hamilton Bus Smash.—Mrs. Fenton, who was injured in the bus smash at Hamilton on Saturday, is suffering from shock and abrasions, but is recovering. Mrs. G. Belz was not seriously injured. Whangarei Lad Injured.—A lad, Lionel Sweet, aged eight years, fell from a tree at Whagarei on Sunday morning. A stake pierce*d his thigh and he was admitted to the hospital. Limited Stop Wanted.—The Feilding Borough Council has decided to send a strong deputation to Wellington to protest against the Railway Department’s refusal to stop the Limited express at Feilding. Excursion to Rotorua. —There were 100 passengers on tne first excursion train run this season to Rotorua. It arrived .n the town about 8 a.m. on Saturday and was met by the Mayor and members of the Amusement Committee . Displeased Customers. —A sharp footnote to deferred payment accounts has displeased several of the Waitemata Power Board’s consumers. The question was brought up at the board meeting this morning and the board deferred it for discussion in committee. Motor-Car on Fire.—A motor-car with a canopy advertising sign caught fire in Albert Street shortly after 6 p.m. yesterday. The sign was destroyed. but the car was not damaged. Members of the public send about 1,000 different inventions affecting motor omnibuses to the London General Omnibus Company every year.
