FEARS FOR GENERAL A ROMANTIC CAREER By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright VANCOUVER. Saturday. It was for some time feared that General Frank A. Sutton, who was with the Royal Engineers when Gallipoli was stormed, and was later Military Adviser to Marshal Chang Tso. lin, the Manchurian war lord, had lost his life in Northern British Columbia, where he was investigating the possibilities of water power for a railway. Members of his party had reported that General Sutton had been missing since Friday, and they feared he had fallen Into a deep canyon. However, later news says he is safe. He wandered in the underbush for 20 hours. —A. and N.Z.-Sun. General Frank Sutton was born in 1885 and educated at Eton. For two years from 1924 he was at Mukden Arsenal supervising the manufacture of arms and munitions for the Northerners. He assisted In the search for Communist agents in Manchuria, and was in danger of his life. He lost his right arm in the Great War.
