PROGRESSIVE CHURCH
BROADCASTING STATION PROPOSED Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. That the Church of England should establish a radio broadcasting station in Christchurch for the dissemination of church services was the proposal placed before the Christchurch Diocesan Synod last evening. Synod referred the proposal to the standing committee, with power to appoint an external committee. Bishop West-Watson said that wireless had come to stay, and by establishing a station the Church would only be working in with the people. They should not adopt the attitude taken up when steam engines were introduced.
