Mr. E. V. Sutherland. Onehunga. w’rote accepting the position of judge to the club. GAMING BILL Writing in regard to the Gaming Amendment Bill the New Zealand Trotting Conference advised all clubs to take such action as might be considered advisable to ensure the passing of the Bill during the current session of Parliament. The necessary action was decided upon. The Trotting Conference advised that all clubs should insert in future p*oI grammes a condition that all horses racing with or without shoes, hopples ; and overcheck, on one day of a meeting ! must race in a similar way on the suhj sequent day or days of the meeting, j The action requested is to be taken. Loss to the Sport The sudden death of Mr. W. J. Hjp- ; kins has deprived the sport of an ! ardent official. In the capacity of member of the Licensing Committee of j the New’ Zealand Trotting Association he did valuable service, and his place will be difficult to fill.
