O’Sullivan is likely to ride Affirm, anl F. Dempsey will be on Bombard, in the Caulfield Cup. The weather was showery for training operations at Flemington this morning. Valorem did the last seven furlongs in 1.37 on the sand. Star d’Or, with R. Lewis in the saddle, covered six furlongs on the ran in 1.192* Epilogue went a mile on the tan in 1.501. Finsbury and Pitoota, finishing together, covered a mile on the tan in 1.461. Ninbela went nine furlongs in 2.41. Bicolour, with a light-weight, and Pilliewinkie, with R. Lewis up. did 12 furlongs in 2.451, the first 10 furlongs being covered in 2.17. Caimcross, on the grass, covered 10 furlongs in 2.17. „ Vaals went a mile in 1.55. At Caulfield, Bombard. with F. Dempsey in the saddle, did nine furlongs in 2.5. Tookarby, assisted by Sea Eagle, covered 10 furlongs on the sand in 2.15. Marinero and Lonikelly ran five furlongs in 1.3. Salzach dashed over four furlongs in 4925, which was the best record. Silvius, wearing a bandage, cantered. Killara did useful work. Pentagram ran 10 furlongs on the sand in 2.23. Killara did useful work. A. Reed will ride Star d’Or in the Caulfield Cup. F. Dempsey will steer Bombard in that race.
