COMBINED DANCE
AT MANUREWA The members of the Manurewa Ladies’ Basketball Club, and the Rugby Union Football Club, joined forces on Wednesday evening, and held a very successful dance in the Manurewa Picture Theatre. The hall had been very daintily decorated for the occasion, multi-coloured streamers stretching in all directions from a brilliant dome in the centre of the ceiling. The stage was bedecked with an array of streamers, and covered with masses of bamboo fronds, with which were mingled arum lilies and other flowers. A large number of visitors were present from the surrounding districts and spent a very enjoyable evening, dancing to the music supplied by Mr. and Mrs. Darby and Mr. Gibbs. The function was controlled by a committee of the two clubs, who also combined the duties of M’s.C. An adjournment was made to the supper room during the evening, where a dainty supper was served by the ladies. The room was decorated with streamers, and the tables were laden with bright spring flowers.
