Tl- ere are sfrx maternity homes in which 399 children were born during he past 12 months, two eventide homes, which took in 24 people, seven industrial homes for inen and women. t«» which 1.356 were admitted, and two inebriates’ homes, which took iu 68 people in the course of the year. In the various workmen’s homes and shelters. 100.074 meals were supplied, and 66.550 beds provided. The Auckland activities embrace the Grey Lynn Maternity Home. Horne Bay Orphanage, Rescue Home. Parnell. Prison Gate Home, Epsom. Workmen’s Home, Lome Street, and the two inebrates’ homes at Roto Roa and Pakatoa. Within the distinct is also The Ne.-t (the children’s home at Hamilton), and an orphanage and training farm at Putaruru.
