ACCOUNTANTS’ SOCIETY
ANNUAL MEETING • A membership of 45i> was reported a t the annual meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, presided over by Mr. H C Robinson. The report showed that 175 were in public practice, and 280 registered, making an increase of three and six, respectively. It was noted that Mr. E. A. Brown, who had represented the local committee on the council of the Chamber of Commerce for some years past had been reappointed to that office, and that Mr. H. C. Robinson had been elected unopposed to the council of the society as a representative of the district in place of Mr. W. J. A. Thompson, who had resigned. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Thompson for his valuable services. The following members were elected to the local committee: —Messrs. A. M. Seaman, J. M. Elliffe, H. C. Robinson, P. J. Dawson, W. Crawford Young, H. F. O. Twig-den and D. H. Steen. Mr. P. J. Dawson was elected chairman of the branch for the ensuing year, and Mr. J. M. Elliffe local secretary.
