North Shore Expansion.—The Xorthccte Borough Council last night decided to make a grant of £7 lOs to the funds of the North Shore Expansion League.
Northcote Water.—The waterworks engineer reported to the Northcote Borough Council last night that 2,475,625 gallons of water had been pumped during the month.
Papatoetoe Drainage. Papatoetot Town Board has decided that it cannot go in for a drainage scheme at present, but with the provision of .< water supply it hopes to attract a j.vifTicient number of residents to make drainage possible.
Forgery Alleged.—Charles Somerville Vincent, aged 38. w ho was charged a.l: the Police-Court to-day with org ir.g a Post Office Savings Bank withdrawal slip, was remanded to appear on October 20. Other charges arc pending against him. *
Theft From Wharf.—Therkel Jen nesen Peterson, who appeared an the Police Court to-day for sentence on a charge of stealing a quantity of bu - ter. was fined £2. A satis factor:/ - report had been made on his character.
Maori Education.—Mr. P. Sttythc, secretary of the Te Akarana Maori Association, and a master at St. Stephen’s Maori College, will deliver h n address on Maori education at the college, Parnell, to-morrow evening.
Northcote Unemployed.—The Northcote Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association last night forwarded a further donation of £ls to the Borough Council to bo expended on the relief of unemployment. The council will give £ for £ on this amount and apply for the Government subsidy.
Pedigree Jersey Sale.—The entries for the Te Awamutu Jersey Breeders’ Association pedigree bull sale total over 100. Well-bred animals from the principal district breeders are being offered and it is hoped to make the sale a permanent fixture.
