DEATH OF MR. F. PUGH
A resident of Birkenhead for nearly 30 years Mr. Frederick Pugh, has died at the age of 75. Born in Birmingham, England, Mr. Pugh came to the Dominion in the sailing ship Eastern Monarch in 1859, arriving at Lyttelton. He subsequently joined the staff of Messrs. Donald and Edenborough, first on the steamer Richmond and later in the auctioneering store in Auckland. He was with the firm for about 40 years, and retired from active work seven years ago. Mr. Pugh is survived by seven sons, all of Birkenhead, and several grandchildren. Mrs. Pugh predeceased her husband six .years ago, and the only daughter, Mrs. Joseph Easdale, died five years age.
