“McFADDEN’S FLATS” ‘McFadden’s Flats,” as a stage play, lias enjoyed more actual performances than any other American play, with the exception of “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” The film version of the play is now being shown at the Capitol Theatre, with Charles Murray and Chester Conklin starred. “McFadden’s Flats” tells the story of' the struggles of an Irishman who, coming to America, has ambitions to get out of the ranks of hod-carriers and become a builder—a builder of a flat building that might bear his name, in fact. He meets a tight-fisted Scotsman —portrayed by Chester Conklin—who becomes his fast j friemd, in spite of their wide differ- ! enee in taste. •The Broncho Twister,** with Tom j Mix in the leading role, is also being I shown.
