TRAFFIC OFFENDERS
MOTORISTS PENALISED S 3 FOR PASSING TRAM Four convictions and two endorsements to his driving licence for dangerous motoring had failed to impress upon J. J. Gardner, the necessity for observing Auckland city by-laws. He was summoned to appear at the Traffic Court this morning to explain why he drove past a stationeiy tramcar to the danger of passengers alighting. The tram motorman said that Gardner showed a total disregard of the safety of passengers. Mr. E. Page. S.M., imposed a fine of £ 5 and costs. * * * S. E. Wallath was convicted and ordered to pay costs for failing to apply for; permission to alter a building. Arthur Watson and A. Bruce Gill had to pay £ 2 and costs each for ignoring traffic officers’ signals. • * • Jack Rennie’s car showed no number plate. His fine was £1 and costs. For omUting to take out a taxidriver’s licence J. L. Turner and Alf. Turner were fined £3 and £2 with costs respectively. * • * Dangerous driving resulted fin Bryan Bassett, Horace Fisher and R. F. Edmonds each being fined £2 and costs. • * • Thos. W. Forster narked his car too near a street corner.—los and costs. John Watson was fined £2 and costs for omitting to provide his taxi with a meter. POLICE PROSECUTIONS For not having motor-cars properly lighted at night, E. Jackson, H. T. Shepherd, J. Tait and F. L. Gustafson wcft-e each fined 10s. F. Colebrook was fined £2. For leaving motor-cars unattended, C. A. Anderson, G. T. Morgan and E. L. Snelling were each fined 10s. For failing to report an accident, R. Hardgrave was fined £2. For failing to stop at a railway crossing, C. C. Campbell was fined £3. For dangerous driving, 5. Crewdson was fined 10s.
