EUCHRE TOURNAMENT

CATHOLIC CHURCH FUND A very successful euchre tournament, organised by Mrs. Doyle, was held in the Gas Company’s social hall, Otahuhu, last evening. The proceeds are to be devoted to the new Catholic 3 Church fund. There were over 100 players engaged f in the games, and competition was exceedingly keen, as both the ladies’ and - men’s prizes had to be played off. The prizes were of such a nature as - to inspire the many players to do their f utmost. Those successful were: / Ladies’, first, 51b caddy of tea, Mrs. E. - Bailey; second, ham, Mrs. Seagar; t third, rose bowl, Mrs. J. Duane; consolation, Miss Eaves. Men’s, first, 701 b sugar, Mr. Gibbin; . second, shirt, Mr. D. Bremner; third, , pair of slippers, Mr. B. Laws; consola- , tion, Mr. F. Williams. At the close of 1 the play, a very dainty supper was served by a committee of ladies.
