HINTS BY “HEADLIGHT"

A Studefoaker became so hot that it had a pre-ignition knock, and the water boiled out so fast that the radiator had to be filled every few miles. The engine ran all right when started in the mornings, but after the first few' minutes' running this trouble started. Then it did not seem to have much power. This could have been lack of oil, a retarded spark, a mineral deposit in the cooling system, a broken pump, or a clogged cooling .system. It was a broken pump. The engine was O.K. after a new' pump was fitted.
