YOUNG PEOPLE’S CLUB

The social evenings conducted by the New Lynn Congregational Young People’s Social Club serve two worthy objects—the source of healthy, bright entertainment for the young folk, and the relief of distress in the district. When the young people set out for the club, in addition to anticipating an evening’s entertainment, they gather fourpence each for a fund from which many a case in distress has been quietly assisted during parlous times. Two evenings are held each week, the fourpence cov€.*ring both. Last evening some 40 young people were present at the usual function, and it was evident that the games they were participating in had had a decidedly cheerful effect —thanks to the splendid arrangements made by responsible adults.
