PUKEKOHE CROQUET CLUB

SEASON OPENED (From Our Own Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, Monday. On Saturday the Pukekohe Croquet Club's season was officially opened, visitors being present from the Mauku, Manurewa, Tuakau, Clevedon, Rawhiti, Papakura, Buckland, Waiuku and Mount Albert Clubs. The ceremony was performed by the president of the Pukekohe Bowling Club, Mr. J. Pollock, who wished the members a successful season, and referred to the success of the “A” team in winning the championship. A handsome cup donated oy Mrs. W. MacPherson, and to be known as the “Ayrshire Cup,” was handed to the president., Mrs. R. Fitness, who drove the first ball to the tune of great applause.
