NEW SPHERE FOR WOMEN
There is a new sphere for women opened in the motion . picture business in America, which really seems to "" a need. It is manager of public relations work, and is much on the hne that a commercial traveller is between manufacturer and buyer, in introducing the wares. She is engaged to get into touch with the right People, who will find most enjoyment interest in a special picture. For instance, a picture dealing with religious subjects, which should appeal to church people, but which often misses them because they do not go to theatres. Well, her duty is to arouse their interest in the subject, and induce them to go into the theatre and ® ee it. Again, when pictures are particularly adapted for children, parents ; . ire informed of the fact, and so on. Jt seems as if the enterprising picture theatre managements, not content with . • huge public they have, are launching out after new patrons. Also, it hjay be an indirect way of improving Picture programmes by arousing greater interest in really worthy pictures, so that the more intellectual classes may be interested.
