PORTER’S EULOGY “WELL BALANCED SIDE” Press Association. WELLINGTON, Friday. Although no names have been published, emergencies have been selected for all places in the All Black team to tour South Africa. They have not been advised, this having been left by the selectors to the New’ Zealand Union. C. G. Porter, captain of the 1924 side, and himself an unsuccessful candidate for inclusion in this team, considers the selectors are to be complimented upon choosing such a wellbalanced side. “I think the forwards are a particularly fine lot, having weight, pace and youth on their side,” he remarked. “"When they settle down to hard work and acquire combination, I can’t imagine a team of forwards to equal them. “The backs are a good all-round set, including some particularly good attackers, as well as defensive players, and should take a lot of stopping once they acquire a knowledge of one another’s play. “I fully expect the 1928 team to return to New Zealand with a record equal to that of the 1924-25 team.
