ELECTION OF OFFICERS The following officers have been elected this year for the Auckland district W.C.T.U.: District President, Mrs. Benfell; district vice-president, Mrs. Finch; district corresponding secretary, Mrs. Williams; district recording secretary, Miss Read; treasurer, Mrs. Taylor. *
Miss Iris Mills, a sister of the bride, attended as bridesmaid, wearing a frock of blush pink taffeta with a picture hat to tone, and carrying a pretty bouquet of rose-pink flowers. The bride’s mother received a number of guests later at the Domain Tea Kiosk, where a reception was held. Her frock was of black crepe de chine, trimmed with gold braid, and she wore a smart hat of velvet. Mrs. Thompson, mother of the bridegroom, wore an effective gpwn of navy blue silk crepe and a navy blue hat to tone.
GODFREY—LEATHART Roberta, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Leathart. of Birkenhead, chose a charming gown of silver lace and knife-pleated ivory georgette for her recent wedding to James, the second son of Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Godfrey, which was solemnised by the Rev. H. H. Bedford at All Saints’ Church, Birkenhead. Mr. W. Church acted as best man, and Mr. N. Gillman as groomsman. Mrs. Steele officiated at the organ. The dainty bridal gown was prettily fashioned with a long, slender bodice of the silver lace deftly attached to a graceful skirt of finely pleated georgette, which was effectively bordered with deep silver lace. From a chaplet of orange blossoms an embroidered veil of tulle was arranged to form a train, and a bouquet of freesias and white cyclamen lent a dainty finish to her toilette. Three maids attended the bride, the; Misses Una Smith, Rona Gillman ancl Malvern Leathart, each wearing a pretty frock of cameo rose georgette with a quaint little head band of rose coloured tulle and carrying a bouquet of pink sweet peas and carnations mingled with maiden hair fern. The bride’s mother, who received a large number of guests at the reception that followed in All Saints’ Hall, wore a becoming frock of slate grey marocain trimmed lightly with ashes of roses crepe. With it she wore a French grey hat and carried a posy of: violets. The bridegroom’s mother was wearing a navy blue frock with a hat to tone and carrying a dainty posy of violets and fern. The bride’s going-away frock was expressed in bois de rose Sedan cloth, and worn with a small hat of tagel straw to tone, trimmed with velvet. Her coat was of dark Pompeian rose corded repp effectively trimmed with fur.
