MORE EXECUTIONS
MEXICAN GENERAL AND POLITICIANS CRUSHING THE REBELLION By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright. Reed. 11.40 a.m. NEW YORK, Thurs. Messages from Nogales, Arizona, state that General Vincente Gonzales, Chief of Artillery in the Morelos State, and 13 members of the State Legislature, were executed for rebellion, according to advices received from the Mexican military headquarters. Mr. James Sheffield, a former Ambassador to Mexico, conferred with President Coolidge, after -which he said that if Mexico cannot work out the solution of her future, she will have to be helped. Mr. Sheffield declared that he had the highest regard for the Mexican people, but he had difficulty with the Mexican Government while he was Ambassador. He said: “I think that American property rights should be protected. Under international laSv, there is no reason why our citizens should not enjoy the same respect south of the Rio Grande as they do north of it.” He later conferred with Mr. P. B. Kellogg, Secretary of State, the Assistant. Secretary of State, and the Am-bassador-Designate, Mr. Dwight Morrow.—A. and N.Z.
