TURUA CRICKET CLUB
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (From Our Own Correspondent) XGATEA, Thursday. The Turua Cricket Club held its annual meeting this week, the Rev. W. W. Averill presiding. The annual report stated that the club ha.d had a successful year. A fair proportion of th Hauraki Plains Cricket Association’s interclub matches had been won and siix players had been selected in the representative teams. A concrete pitch had been laid down at the latter end of the season. The balance sheet showed a debit balance of £lO, but the club had assets totalling over £3O. Officers elected for the season were as follows:—Patron, Mr. A. H. Rogers; President, Mr. J. Mules; secretary and treajsurer, Mr. R. D. Macklow; delegates to Hauraki Plains Cricket Association, Rev. W. W. Averill and Mr. H. Owens; captain, Rev. W. W. Averill: vicecaptain, Mr. W. Jenkins; selection committee, captain, vice-captain and Mr. G. Schofield; auditor, Mr. J. Gibson; umpire, Mr. B. Tynon; committee. Messrs. R. Holl, L. Pentecost. M. Madgwlofc and the officers ex officio. A practice-match will be held next Saturday.
