HENDERSON STABLE
A. AYRE’S FINE TEAM VISITOR’S APPRECIATION A correspondent signing himself “Visitor," expresses his appreciation of the stables and light-harness horses owned by Mr. H. C. Nicbolls and presided over by trainer A. Ayres. Being a visitor to Auckland and an enthusUst n the light-harness sport, I vailed it Mr. Nicholls’s stables at Henderson. Here trainer A. Ayres showed me around his charges. First I saw that nice-looking horse Kelson Tasker, and he looted in good form. Billy Carbine also looks very well and ready to go
to the races. Ayres also has a nicelocking filly by Gold Bell in training. Owned by S. Delugar arid A. Parker, and she is showing a lot of promise. 'Trainer A. Ayres mentioned that he would be going to town shortly with N€lson Tasker to give him his final work. During his absence S. Ayres, who has charge of Mr. Nicholls’s galloper Cullgie when in town, will have charge of the horses at the stables. I also saw running in the paddocks some fine-looking two and three-year-olds, that Ayres is handling and getting ready to race. The general appearance of the stables and horses reflected great credit on trainer A. Ayres and owner Nicholls. A. Ayres was present at Alexandra Parle yesterday and Nelson Tasker, the aristocratically-bred gentleman, looked a picture. Strapped up, he was bustled over occasional furlongs, and moved in a pleasing manner. He promises to be :n rare nick for the fixture. B. lly Carbine, who is also well forward, was brought to Epsom in company with another maiden, just to have a look round. Billy will be sporting silk later on and should make good. —ABAYDOS.
