ATTRACTIVE ESSAY ON MANGERE TRACK
THE TARTAR PLEASES After witnessing the few work-outs at Kpsom yesterday morning worth recording, “Abaydos” paid a visit to the Mangere track where a fair number of horses were engaged in daily exercise. Very few, however, were out to crack the clock, but the various mentors have their charges in line condition. The star attraction was a set to between the trotters Betty Moko and The Tartar, and the pacers Goldman and Bingen King, the latter pair being unhoppled. The journey was two miles and after the quartette had got under way Bingen K ng hit the air, losing a lot of ground. The other three kept in close formation and nearing the 12furlong peg Biogen King had lessened t>e gup. From here to the post the pace was right on and Goldman, Betty Moko and The Tartar gave a fine exhibition, finishing on terms, with Bingen King, who was not pushed over the concluding stages, wel back. The run showed that Goldman and Betty Moko are in rare trim and The Tartar is fast reaching the height of his form. He promises to fight out another duel with Betty Moko next week-end.
