TO COMFORT THE SICK
HOSPITAL AUXILIARY COLLECTION DAY RESULTS The first collection day of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary last Friday was an unqualified success and the patron, Mrs. A. D. Campbell, the president, Mrs. Kidd, and the council desire to thank the • workers who toiled so willingly for the cause. They also wish to thank the public for its generous response to the street collections. The council of the auxiliary assures the public that the donations given so willingly will result in the sick poor of the city receiving much comfort and cheer. The large sum of £791 15s 7d was the grand total of the day’s collection. The greater amount of this was collected in the city, and a third of the city’s collection will be handed to the Hospital Patients and Families’ Fund. The amounts collected were as follow: Station A, Navy League, Mrs. Ifwersen in charge, £23 14s 3d; station B, Commercial Travellers and Civic League, Mrs. Sadler and Mrs. Axford, £45 2s lid; station C, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Mrs. Prendergast, £lO9 11s lid; station D, Girls’ Query Club, Mrs. Campbell, £34 4s 3Jd; station E, Victoria League, Mrs. Rickerby, £33 5s 6d; station F, St. John Ambulance, Mrs. Cammel, £27 13s i£d; station G, W.C.T.U., Mrs. John Cook, £34 18s 7d; station H, Mutual Club, Mrs. von Sturmer, £49 6s BJd; station I, Auckland Hospital Auxiliary, Mrs. E.
