ARE WE THERE ALREADY?
LEVINE CRASHES NEAR ROME PRESENT FOR MUSSOLINI’S BABY I3g Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 2 p.m. LONDON, Tue.sday. Calling at Rome on his way to Bucharest, Charles Levine, the American millionaire, expressed a wish to fly over Mussolini’s villa and drop s. present for the Premier’s new baby. Mussolini was most delighted, and telephoned his daughter asking tier to spread sheets over the housetop. The attempt, however, was disastrous. The Miss Colombia developed enginetrouble and crashed in a vineyard on the outskirts of Rome, wrecking the lading gear, propellor and engine. The occupants, including Prince Louis of Bourbon, who was a passenger, had wonderful escapes, but were unhurt. It is feared that this is the end of Miss Colombia’s romantic career, but Levine has arranged to leave for Paris to have the machine repaired. ’’But for Hinchcliffe’s wonderful piloting, we would all be dead.” said Levine. “We could have landed safely if there had been any clear ground, but there was none.” Prince Louis, as; he emerged from the cockpit of the wrecked machine, asked, “Are we there already?”
