DROWNED IN TAN PIT

BOY’S TRAGIC END RICHMOND FATALITY A little boy met Detective J. A. Moon yesterday afternoon and asked him to go to Warnock Bros/ Tannery in Richmond. When the detective got there he found the body of a three-year-old boy drowned in a tan pit. The children are the sons of Mr. George Henry Bedaingfield, of 87 Summer Road, Ponsonby. They left home at 10 o’clock yesterday morning, and as they did not return for dinner, the father began an unavailing search. It was not until Detective Moon met the elder boy, aged five, that the tragedy was discovered. Tlie boys had got into the tannery by squeezing under a door. A verdict of accidental death was returned by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.. a,t an inquest to-day.
