AN UNEQUAL CONTEST
T OVERS of the pure-gaited trotting horse will view with pleasure the appearance of such fine exponents of the unhoppled art as Money Spider, Young Blake and Trampfast in the lists for the trotters’ events at Alexandra Park. This will give admirers of the local crack trio, Waihaka, Betty Moko and Peter Dean, a good chance to see them pitted against a good Southern representation. The Canterbury brigade will have a good advantage over the Ai»pkland “big three,” as they have all raced this season. Traimpfast and Money Spider were winners at Addington in August, and the latter recently annexed the chief event at Wellington from a field of smart pacers. Young Blake was also prominent at National time, securing a brace of seconds. Betty Moko has not raced since Jure, and Peter Dean and Waikaha have been off the scene for some time. Under these circumstances it may prove an unequal contest.
