STORMS IN AUSTRALIA RIVERS BURST THEIR BANKS By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Recti. 10.30 a.m. BRISBANE, To-day. The most violent storm experienced for man}- years broke over Brisbane during the week-end. Much'damage was done at Windsor and Albion, where houses were unroofed. Heavy rain is still tailing in many parts of New South Wales. Numerous washouts on the railway have beer reported. A message from Melbourne says heavy ruin is falling in the greater part of Victoria, and the wheat crop will be saved. The Superintendent of Agriculture says that if the rain had beer delayed for three week:- over 10,000.090 bushels of wheat, valued at £2,500,900, would have been lost. The rain is causing floods in some districts. The town of Traralgon. in Gippsland South, is now threatened with a mos; serious flood. All the low-lying land is submerged and numbers of the residents are narooaed. The Latrobe River has broken its banks and a serious extension of the floods is feared.
