AUCKLAND GUN CLUB’S SHOOT
SATURDAY’S EVENTS The regular shoot of the Auckland Gun Club was held at Panmure on Saturday, -when there was a large attendance of members and visitors. A seven-bird match was divided between D. S. Ewing (15yds), and A. Hannigan (14yds), with the possible. There were 20 competitors. The chief match, for Mr. F. E. McKenzie’s trophy, attracted 21 entries, and provided a very keen contest. G. Westbury (14yds), and A. Hannigan (15yds). tied with the possible of 15. YVestbury winning the shoot-off on the 20th round. Five other competitors missed only one bird, and the shooting was excellent. A novice match was shot in conjunction and was won by P. X. Gallie (13yds), with the possible of five. Nine competed. Two double-rise matches were shot off, the first being won by A. E. Macredie, with seven out of a possible eight, and the second was won by A. Hannigan <lsyds), after a shoot-off with F. H. Seccombe (17yds).. Both scored nine out of ten in the match. Two novelty events were won by D. Kellett, and G. Rowe, respectively, and the consolation event was won by A. E. Powell, after an exciting finish with YV. Fairlej'.
