STRONG PROGRAMME James Kirkwood, veteran of the stage and screen, plays the leading

masculine role in “Butterflies in the Rain,” which will have a local showing at the Capitol Theatre to - night. Laura La Plante shares starring honours in this Edward Sloman production, which has an excellent supporting cast, including Robert Ober, Edwards Davis, Clarence Thompson, Grace Gordon, and Dorothy Stokes. “The Lady of the Harem” will also be screened to-night. Raoul Walsh directed this picture for Paramount, which is a lavish spectacle production of the Far East during the tenth and eleventh centuries. Featured players in the cast are jSrnest Torrence. William Collier, jzvr., Greta Nissen and Louise Fazenda. May McAvoy, elevated to stardom by Warner Brothers for her excellent work in feature roles during the past season, will be seen in several productions ,on Master Pictures’ 1928 programme. The Irst is “Irish Hearts,” in which %he is supported by Jason Robards, who was Dolores Costello’s leading man in “The Third Degree,” Warner Richmond, Kathleen Key, and Les Bates. Her next is “Slightly Used,” with Conrad Nagel and Bobby Agnew in support. Another May McAvoy starring picture is “Rebecca O’Brien.”
