SCOTLAND YARD BUSY Search for Slayers of Constable SCOTLAND YARD is close on the trail of the murderers of Constable Gutteridge, and important clues have been gathered. Reed. 9.15 a.m. LONDON, Thursday. GCOTLAND YARD has made further sensational discoveries, including a man’s handkerchief with “A. H. Miller” on it In black marking ink; also a small tin containing 101 rounds of .455 revolver ammunition. The tin was wrapped In a handkerchief, together with a cardboard carton with 12 rounds of .303 servicerifle ball ammunition, behind a fence on a waste piece of ground at Hammersmith. The police are circulating photographs of the new clues and the revolver. One of the largest staffs of detectives ever employed is scouring the various quarters of London all day and night in search of certain persons. The police have released Andrew Baldwing, who surrendered in con-

nection with the murder of Constable | Gutteridge, in Essex, as they do not ■ believe his confession. The fingerprints on Lovell’s car have been identified as belonging to Censtable Gutteridge and two well-known criminals. An abandoned motor-car, bloodstained and with fingerprints on the windscreen, was discovered later. It had been stolen from a London doctor. A cartridge-case was found in it, identical in si*e with the bullets that had killed the constable, and a revolver of the same cal bre was found beside the Thames when the tide receded.
