TAMAKI YACHTSMEN

CLUB’S STRONG POSITION The report presented at the annual meeting of the Tamaki Yacht Club, held last evening at Kohimarama, shows the club to be in a flourishing condition. During the past season five racing fixtures were held and these attracted 91 entries and 71 starters. A large increase in membership resulted from a campaign recently conducted, the present total being 196. The excess of receipts over expenditure amounted to £2O 19s 2d, compared with £ls 5s 5d last year. The commodore, Mr, W. A. Wilkinson, who occupied the chair, congratulated the club on its splendid financial position. Following are the officers for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr. C. W. And< - son; vice-patrons, Messrs. Neville Newcomb, M. Walsh, senr., W. S. Carr and Kenneth Brookfield; president, Mr. J. Holloway; vice-presidents, Messrs. T. Kilfoyle, L. J. Keys, P. White, J. W. L. Stubbs, A. E. Bollard, N.. J. Inglis, F. Price. J. A. Munro, H. R. Mackenzie, F. Webster, R. Clark, J. Hill, C. Gray, J. Hubber, Captain BL. C Barnes and Captain H. H. Sargeant; commodore, Mr. W. A. Wilkinson; vice-com-modore, Mr. A. Prosser; rear-com-modore, M!r. C. Francis; secretary, Mr. E. G. Tyrell; assistant-secretary and treasurer, Mr. A. H. Forbes; delegates to Auckland Yacht and Motor Boat Association, Messrs. R. Wild and C. Francis; judges, Messrs. T. Kilfoyle and F. H. Browne; timekeepers, Captain Barnes and Messrs. F. Wild and G. Grant; starter and handicapper, Mr. W. A. Wilkinson. Following an appeal by the chairman, offers of 12 trophies were received from members. The following committee was eleced: Messrs. E.. J. Rowe, J. W. Andrew, J. White, D. Birch, C. Gray, R. Nixon, J. McDonald, F. C. Webster, N. Mooi H. Scott, F. H. Browne and Captain H. C. Barnes. The Sailing Committee is: Messrs. R. Wild, Rowe, Browne, Fellowes, W. Coe, T. Kilfoyle, A. H. Forbes and Captain Barnes.
