SHOOT AT PANMURE A series of matches was shot off by members of the Auckland Gun Club ; at Panmure yesterday under difficult shooting conditions, a strong gale blowing across the ground. The first match of seven birds was divided by F. Hazard. 15yds, and I. Lomas, 11yds, with the possible. The second match for Mr. W. E. Grant’s trophy resulted in a win for F. Hazard, 16yds, with 14 out of 15. F. H. Seceombe, 18yds, J. Fitt, 16yds, C. E. Hodge, 14yds, and D. Cairns, 11yds, tied for second place with 13 kills. J. Fitt won the shootoff. A ten-bird match was divided by A. Hannigan and J. Fitt, both off 15yds, with the possible. The last match of seven birds resulted in a tie between F. Hazard, 17yds, J. Fitt. 16vds A. E. Macredie. 17yds, A. Hannigan. 16yds, and W. E. Grant, lSyds, with six out of seven. \V. E. Grant won the shoot-off. Further matches will be held on Saturday next, when Mr. F. E. McKenzie's trophy will be competed for. The club is unable to visit Hamilton on Wednesday, October 5. and has suggested that the return match against that club be held on October 26.
