HEAVY TRACK NO DETERRENT BERT ABBE’S FINE RECORD Straight heat victories with surprising results was the order during: Me three-day trotting and pacing meeting at Moonroe last week (says ttxe New York “Herald” of August 7). The meeting opened with a heavy track, which forceed the drivers to the outside. Ho wever, Bert Abbe, who set a new track record at Endicott the week previous, won the 2,000 dollars purse in straight heats, travelling as easily as if the track were fast. Driven by Ber * Abbe finished in 2.85, 2.9|, and 2.9. The second day saw another straight teat, triumph when Doane, the L. S. Handley black gelding, defeated Ruth *’h Chenault, who set the world’s record of 2.9 J, when a two-year-old last jear. Doane is by The Extract —Lady L. and finished in 2.10$ and 2.10. On the final day another straight teat victory was scored when Victor i*risco was down in front three times in a row. Victor Frisco is a black gelding aind was driven by Seeley. The victory was scored in the 2.12 trot ain Hing skies and fine track conftlons. The times were 2.85, 2.9$ and
