OTAHUHU CROQUET CLUB
SUCCESSFUL CARD AFTERNOON The members and friends of the Otahuhu Croquet Club held a very successful and enjoyable card afternoon in the Gas Company's demonstration room, Otahuhu, yesterday, when a large number were present including visitors from a number of the surrounding clubs. In the euchre tournament Mrs. Wood captured the trophy and in the 800, Mrs. Anderson prov«id the winner. A competition was also held and the honours fell to Mrs. Patton. During the afternoon, members o! the club served a dainty afternoon | tea. The next afternoon will be held on I October 31. Half-and-half sleeves, so to speak, j are another quaint vogue. A frock of printed pink and white crepe de chine, the floral pattern very small, has sleeves half-made of spotted crepe, thi® spotted fabric being cunningly continued down the sides of the bodice to resemble a small, open coatee.
