DRAINING IN HAURAKI
CLEARING WAIHOU RIVER The Public Works Department is making changes in the landscape along the Turua-Netherton road in connection with the improvement of the Waihou River. A considerable number of trees on the line of the stop-bank have been hauled to the surface and stacked. Many* gangs of men are employed constructing drains, culverts and bridges necessitated by the enlargement of drains.
