BRUTAL MURDER OF CONSTABLE
SHOT IN BOTH EYES By Cable. — Press Association.—Copyright Reed. Noon. LONDON, Tuesday. POLICE CONSTABLE GUT--1 TERIDGE was brutally murdered In a lonely Essex Road. He was discovered early this morning with a pencil clutched in his hand and his notebook near by. Four bullet wounds were in his head and neck, two of which were fired at a distance, and the ether two with the muzzle pressed close to each eye, both of which were chattered. The police theory is that Gutteridge stopped a rr.otor-car and was about to enter particulars In his notebook when he was shot in the eyes, the murderers firing twice then, and again while he was on the ground.
