HAMILTON SUPPORTS MISS AUCKLAND
FINALISTS ACCORDED ENTHUSIASTIC WELCOME (.Special to THE PCN.) HAMILTON, To-day An enthusiastic public and civic reception was accorded the “Miss New Zealand” finalists at Hamilton yesterday, the Mayor introducing the girls in a felicitous speech. The majority of votes went to Auckland’s ' candidate, Miss Billie Andreasson. Miss Spiers, Miss Austen, Miss Hildred Graham, Miss McCall and Miss Hodge were next in order of favouritism. The aggregate list is unaltered: First. Miss Dale Austen ("Miss Otago”). Second: Miss Vera. Hodge (Maid of Honour to "Miss Otago”). Third: Miss Hazel Spiers ("Miss Wellington"). Fourth: Miss Leon McCall ("Miss Canterbury”). Fifth: Miss Billie Andreasson ("Miss Auckland”). Sixth: Miss Hildred Graham (Maid of Honour to "Miss Auckland”). Seventh: Miss Pat Smidt (Maid of Honour to "Miss Wellington”). Eighth: Miss Morgie Cameron (Maid of Honour to "Miss Southland”). Ninth: Miss Winnie Tonklnson (“Miss Southland"). Tenth: Miss Jane Kinsey (Maid of Honour to "Miss Canterbury”).
