“LA MASCOTTE”

DELIGHTFUL COMIC OPERA Two n.ghts remain of the highly successful season of “La Mascotte,” the delgihtful comic opera presented by the talented people of the Auckland Amateur Operatic Society. The attendances bear witness to the popularity of the old favourite, in which many actresses and actors have won recognition. The good music in the opera is played by a first-class orchestra, under the conductorship of Mr. Colin Muston. Mr. Dan Flood, as Laurent XVII., and Mr. G. C. Lyttelton as Rocco the farmer, supply the comedy element. Miss Eva Simson as Bettina, and Mr. Ernest i Snell, as Pippo, play their parts exceptionally well. Others in the cast include Miss Beryl Poulton, Mr. Birrell O’Malley, Miss Doreen D'Autherau, Miss Miri Bragato, Miss Jean Macindoe and Miss Eileen Brodie. A feature of the performance of “La Mascotte” is the dancing of Miss Bettina Edwards.
