LAW V INSURANCE BRIGHT FOOTBALL Senior and junior Rugby football matches in connection with the annual reunion of the members of the legal and insurance professions were played at. Epsom Showgrounds yesterday. In the senior game a high standard was attained. Law kicked off. and play was very even, neither side having the advantage. Law was the first to score. Walsh crossing in the corner. Paitry converted. In the second quarter Page, the captain of the Insurance team, succeeded in crossing their opponent’s line. The half-time scores were; Law 5 Insurance 3 On resuming, the Insurance backs swept down the field, and Williams, after a spectacular sprint, scored close to the posts. The kick failed. A few minutes before the final whistle went, Williams scored between the posts. The kick failed. The final scores were: Insurance . . 9 Law . . . 5 THE JUNIOR GAME In the junior game, Law won by 12. points to 6. The scorers for the winning team were:—Von Sturmcr, Boughton and Searle, with one try each, and Forcler, who secured a penalty goal. Meredith and Bissett secured tries for Insurance. Mr. H. M. Didsbury. chairman of the Auckland Fire and* Underwriters’ Association, presented the senior and junior cups to the captains of the winning teams. He congratulated the players on their success. A conversazione in connection with the reunion will be held in the Scots Hall, Symonds Street, on Friday evening. | * i \ ‘ j
