BIG NORTH ISLAND CYCLE ROAD RACE
HAMILTON TO AUCKLAND HAMILTON, Monday. Thirty entries have been 'eceived for the Hamilton-Auckland road cycle race, which takes place on Saturday. Included among - the competitors are two veteran cyclists, E. Breckon. aged TO. of Frankton, and Reardon, aged 50, Taumarunui. Other competitors are Sutherland, White. Prior, Slater Hayes and Hill, all well-known long-distance cyclists. The competitors will be despatched by the Mayor, Mr. J. R. Fow, from the chief post office, Hamilton, between 9 and 10 a.m., and the route will be along the Great South Road, through Papakura. From Ellerslie the competitors will take Green Lane, and will finish at Alexandra Park. Messrs. P. A. Richards and H. F. Carter were in Hamilton to-day making arrangements for the event, which it is hoped will become as important as the Christchurch-Timaru road race.
