LEADERS ABSENT
LULL FOR PARLIAMENT RAILWAY STATEMENT DUE (TIIE SUN'S Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, To-day. In the absence of the Prime Minister, and the Leader of the Opposition, and a number of members of Parliament at Raglan, it is not likely that any measures of great importance will be brought before the House of Representatives during the next day or two, and minor Government measures will be proceeded with. The Railways Statement probably will make its appearance to-morrow, but discussion will be reserved for the Railways Estimates, The Marine Departments report is not yet ready, but may be brought down toward the end of the week. The Minister of Finance hopes to introduce the Customs Amendment Bill within a few days. The good progress that has been made with the consideration of the Estimates will in all probability result in their being finally disposed of on Friday, and thereafter in that case Fridays will again be devoted to ordinary Government legislation.
