LICENSING BILL
“NEITHER HOUR NOR DAY IS KNOWN” COMING THIS SESSION (THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, Friday, can members expect the ** Licensing Bill to come before the House?” was the question that was directed at the Prime Minister in the House to-day. Mr. Coates was as non-committal as ever, although he reiterated his promise that the measure would be introduced during the current session. “I can at this stage give you neither the day nor the hour,” he said to Mr. H. G. R. Mason, who brought the question forward. Mr. D. G. Sullivan: We know not the day nor the hour! Mr. Howard: Do we know the year? Mr. Coates: Oh, yes. The year is 1927. Mr. Howard: Well, we have got something out of you. Mr. Coates: That has not been a secret. That has been discovered a long time. The Bill will be introduced this session—not only this year, but this session—and the Government will give due notice when it is coming down.
