FOUR PRODUCTIONS STARTED IN WEEK AT M-G-M STUDIOS
Four major productions were started in a single week at the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios in preparation for the coming seaThey were “The Fair Co-ed,” adapted from George Ade’s play of this title; “In Old Kentucky,” a famous stage
play; “Lovelorn,” written by Beatrice Fairfax, and “The Hypnotist,” by Tod Browning. Other productions scheduled for the near future are Tim McCoy’s historic: drama of the Indian wars, as yet untitled; “Olga from Volga,” a comedy featuring Karl Dane and George
K. Arthur. “Rose Marie,” adapted from the play of this name; “Trelawney of the Wells,” from the play and starring Norma Shearer, and “Fires of Youth,” a newspaper story by Monta Bell and starring John Gilbert. Lillian Gish is at work on her starring vehicle, “The Enemy”; Jackie Coogan is being filmed in a high seas romance called “Buttons”; Lew Cody and Aileen Pringle are teamed in the forthcoming film “Tea for Three,” based on a stage play; John Gilbert and Greta Garbo are acting in “Love,” taken from Tolstoy’s “Anna Karenina.”
